• Since the early 1970’s, Andrew McCusker, founding member of Mackworth-Enviro, has worked across various environmental sectors, from remediation to consulting within the oil industry. Since 1995, Mr. McCusker has been instrumental in the development of floating filter barriers, contributing significantly to several of the products used in Mackworth Bottom Sealing Filter Barrier (BSFB) product line. His early efforts focused on Marine Life Exclusion systems designed to comply with the 316B regulation and with managing turbidity in challenging environmental conditions.​

• Mackworth-Enviro was officially established in early 2011, specializing in Bottom-Sealing Filter Barriers for a diverse range of applications, including beach protection, turbidity control, and contaminated dredge cleanup. Since its inception, Mackworth-Enviro has developed unique capabilities, combining industry experience to design, engineer, manufacture, and install BSFB's. These innovative barriers offer 100% water filtration in tidal and flowing environments, withstanding flows of up to 6 feet per second.​

• In 2023, Mr. McCusker transitioned into retirement, passing the reins to US Navy veteran Christian Guelke, the longtime operations manager, designer, and business partner. Mr. Guelke began his work with filter barriers in 2002 as a commercial diver, installing and maintaining a 1,500-foot by 60-foot deep bottom sealing system in the Hudson River, NY to protect fish species from power plant intakes. He quickly advanced within the company, taking on system design responsibilities and collaborating with engineers on critical design elements including anchor system development and optimal system sizing.​
